Barrel nut June 25, 2023 : JAKE DIONNE from Pascoag, RI United States   Amazing customer service, there was a "miss ship" issue but that was more likely USPS. Biggest issue is the barrel nut on the ar upper I purchased was torqued WELL OVER 100 foot pounds. I've still yet to get it OFF!! it's crazy at this point I'm afraid to bend the upper! Great upper, but old style barrel nut February 8, 2023 : Micheal Austin from Blaine, WA United States   It's a great barrel and upper, the compensator and BCG it came with are super nice. However it comes with an old school barrel nut for Delta rings without a Delta ring installed and the type of barrel nut that most floating handguards Do not fit. because of this I have to take the barrel nut off and do a bunch of smithing to switch out the barrel nuts in order to put a hand guard on it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAS Defense Reply: Mike, you ordered the 16" 5.56 / .223 AR-15 BARRELED UPPER - MAS DEFENSE MIL SPEC BARREL NUT.  The title and description specifically state it comes with a "Mil-Spec Barrel Nut". Good upper but.... April 6, 2021 : Pat Henderson from Gray, Tennessee United States   Bought the upper with no rail. Whoever assembled either used lok-tite or severely over torqued the Allen heads in the gas block. I had no choice but to drill them out so I could take it off to mount the rail. Could have been worse, at least I was only out a $5 gas block. Thankfully the barrel nut wasn’t over torqued. To be fair, Mas Defense is my go to for complete uppers. Maybe just got one from a dude who was having an off day. Won’t stop me from buying again. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAS Defense Reply: Pat, I apologize for the issue you experienced. We torque the gas block set screws to 40 INCH LBS and use a blue removeable Loctite. They are installed using pre-set torque wrenches to make sure they never move. OEM style upper January 25, 2021 : Daniel O'Neil from Oil City, PA United States   It's a nice piece. Ballistic advantage barrel is blemish free. Forged upper is blem free. Gas block and tube were assembled correctly. I inspected all during disassembly to install a free float rail. It's good value for money. It got here quickly. I haven't shot it yet but, I have no doubts that everything will be well. It's going to get a Sig whiskey 3 - 9 for varmint hunting and plinking. I expect it will be great for the purpose. Plug and play January 21, 2021 : Greg Ilko from Greenwood, IN United States   Received the complete upper, installed my hand guard with zero problems, and everything fit seemlessly onto my DPMS lower. Took it to the range and ran through a few magazines to zero my sights and relieve some 2020 pent up election aggrevation 😁  Gas system functioned perfectly.  No FTFs or FTEs. It also looks great.  I liked the MAS logo etched on the top of the rail.  Well done all.   You have earned a new customer! Was this review helpful to you?
