I still need to heat up the upper at the range. But initial impressions are good. No problems mating upper to lower. My only complaint is the compensator was on so tight I needed to use a barrel vise to remove it... and to do this I had to take off the hand guard. The hand protector was on so tight it broke a star key wrench getting it off. With the loctite blue (which they use), there should be no need to tighten these things to 50-60 lbs. With 1/2x32 threads on the barrel, 10 lbs pressure and loctite purple should be ample... or just ditch the loctite and hand tighten. This probably only affects customers who want to use a suppressor, but many customers don't own a barrel vise would have to see a gun smith to simply unscrew the compensator. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAS Defense Reply: DHO, the Squadron handguard screws are torqued to 35 INCH LBS. We use blue (removeable) Loc-Tite on the screws. The muzzle device is installed using a crush washer and timed correctly. We do not use any Loc-Tite on them. Hand tightening either of these parts with minimal torque is NEVER recommended. Either of these parts coming loose while firing the weapon could lead to very dangerous situations. The proper tools should always be used when working on any weapon to ensure parts are installed correctly. Also, the threads on your barrel are 1/2x36 TPI. Thank you for your feedback and your business!
